SEARCY, ARKANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State football was on the road Saturday against Harding Bisons. The home team Harding jumped out quickly to a 21-0 lead before closing out the 62-0 victory.
Brodey Johnson finished with nine passing yards, Travis Romar with 13 yards, Darien Gill with 46 rushing yards. Cade Reynolds finished with a team high 12 tackles four solo and eight assisted.
Harding opened the game with the first drive after a touch-back kickoff the Bisons used a five play 70 yard drive ending with a 1 yard rushing touchdown to take the early 7-0 lead over the Rangers. The home team was able to extend their lead to 14-0 after ending their next drive with a 10 yard completion ending with a passing touchdown.
The Rangers next drive had a 21 yard rush for a first down followed by a 12 yard completion from Johnson to Romar as the Rangers drove to the Harding 39. However the next play Ty Dugger, a Harding defender picked off the pass running it back for a 83 yard touchdown and a 21-0 Harding lead. Harding continued to lead 21-0 through the first quarter
The second quarter Harding was the first to strike on a 31 yard rushing touchdown ending the 70 yard drive to take a 28-0 lead. Harding went into halftime holding a 35-0 lead after a 20 yard passing touchdown to Chauncey Martin to end the drive of 70 yards.
In the third quarter the two teams traded punts before Harding started a 69 yard touchdown drive following two rushes of 15+ yards before it ended with a five yard rushing touchdown by Kyler Finney.
This was the only score of the 3rd quarter as the Rangers trailed 41-0 heading into the final quarter. Harding added a rushing touchdown to push the score to 48-0. Harding added a defensive touchdown on an interception for a touchdown leaving 55-0.
The final score in Searcy was 62-0, as the Rangers fell to the Bisons Saturday afternoon.
Northwestern will be back in action on Saturday afternoon against the East Central Tigers with kickoff set for 2:00 PM.
