SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Soccer was in Shawnee Saturday afternoon for a matchup against the Bison in a Great American Conference matchup. After an early second half goal by Tiara Campbell the Bison answered in the 74th minute as the two teams played to a draw.
The Rangers are now 2-6-5 on the season with a 0-3-4 conference record. The Bison moved to 3-6-3 on the season with a 2-3-2 conference mark.
Tiara Campbell scored the Rangers goal here third of the season to put the Rangers on the board assisted by Lily Anderson. Overall each team had five saves with six shots on goal as Rachel Brown finished the game with five saves.
Oklahoma Baptist tried to take advantage of their early possession with three shots in the first three minutes followed by a corner kick and a fourth shot but all were off target. The Rangers countered with the first shot on goal of the game as Luana San Miguel put one on target but Claire Stoermer kept the game scoreless.
Rachel Brown made her first save at the 11:49 mark of the game on a shot to the bottom center of the goal. Isabella Mcmillan had a shot on goal that was saved, helping lead to a corner kick at the 32 minute mark. The Bison kept the Rangers off the board there in the chances.
Northwestern's defense did the same to the Bison as the two teams were locked at 0-0 heading into the halftime break.
The Rangers gained control early in the second half with a corner kick opportunity in the 45th minute before Tiara Campbell capitalized with a goal sending one to the back of the net assisted by Lily Anderson.
After the goal a half of minute later Rachel Brown kept the Rangers in front with a save high to the net. The Rangers staying aggressive put three more shots on goal from Campbell, Mcmillan and San Miguel before off a corner kick Reese Welch had one go wide left.
It was in the 74th minute of the match when Oklahoma Baptist was able to find the back of the goal as assisted by Lani Waddle, Sophie Jordan was able to send the equalizer for a 1-1 tie in the 74th minute.
Each team had one more shot on goal, as the Bison had three shots with the Rangers two but both teams kept one off the scoreboard the rest of the way with a final score of 1-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers finish with their second consecutive tie after a tie on Wednesday to Southwestern Oklahoma State. Northwestern will be back in action on Wednesday, October 23rd against East Central in Alva with kick-off set for 6:00 PM.
