JOPLIN, MISSOURI - Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Cross Country closed out their season at the NCAA DII Central Region Championship meet. The Rangers placed 28th overall in the central region.

Augustana South Dakota placed first overall in the meet followed by Pittsburg State and the University of Mary to round out the top three. 

Northwestern finished with four runners placing in the top 200 of the meet. Northwestern had five of seven runners set new personal records including two beating the previous school records in Ava Miller, and Jamaira Ross. 

"Jamaira Ross, and Ava Miller set the new school record on the Women's Side. It is unbelievable that we had five out of seven of them that finished with a personal best time. The Women's team is moving in the right direction as a team. They put a huge smile on my face and I am proud of them" stated head coach Sterlin Broomfield.

Ross led the way for the Rangers with a personal record and school record set running a 23:49.83 at the weekend meet placing 137th overall. Ava Miller was second also passing the previous school record running a 23:51.55 placing 140th overall in the meet. 

Cadence Long-Torres was next for the Rangers placing 169th overall in the meet following running a 24:45.05 on Saturday.  Elisa Bernardez was the final runner in the top 200 for the Rangers placing 197th, setting her new personal record with a time of 26:19.27.

Reina Gonzales set her season best on Saturday with a time of 26:54.44 placing 204th overall in the meet. Elizabeth Dorado- Barrera finished the meet with a time of 27:09.77 setting a personal record  while placing 209th overall in the meet. 

Jamie Torres-Franco set a new personal record as well after running a 27:55.48 placing 216th overall in the meet.
