Carson Wright Earns GAC Player of the Week

ALVA, OKLAHOMA- Northwestern Oklahoma State outfielder Carson Wright earned Great American Conference Player of the Week to start the season. After the Ranger Baseball won the opening weekend series to start the year 2-1 over Metropolitan State University of Denver. Wright helped lead the Rangers in the two wins.

In the series Wright finished batting .500 (6-12) while hitting three home runs, driving in three runs and scoring five runs. He drew three walks to raise his on base percentage to .600 for the weekend and totaling 15 bases.

Game one of the series Wright came through hitting three home runs for the Rangers. His first one in the bottom of the first inning to put the Rangers on the board, one in the third inning, and then his final one to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning when the Rangers were trailing 8-7 he tied the game at eight with a solo shot. He was the first Ranger to hit three home runs in a game since Marques Paige in 2021. Overall Wright finished the game 4-5 on the afternoon.

In the second game of the series Wright reached base safely four times in five total plate appearances as he had two hits while drawing two walks. He came across to score two runs in the 6-5 walk-off win.

The Rangers will be home this weekend against Truman State University for a four game series starting on Friday at 1:00 PM followed by a doubleheader starting at Noon on Saturday and a single game on Sunday at Noon.
