ALVA, OKLAHOMA- Northwestern Oklahoma State outfielder Carson Wright earned Great American Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season after earning it back in the opening week. Northwestern went 3-1 overall last week after sweeping Southern Nazarene in the conference series.
Overall for the week Wright finished hitting .500 (8-16) along with hitting two home runs and driving in eight runs, while scoring four runs. He had an on base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .938.
The first game of the week was at Newman where he hit a home run while scoring two runs and having two hits in the 7-6 loss Newman.
In the Southern Nazarene series he continued his strong week where he went 2-3 along with three runs batted in while drawing two walks helping the Rangers into a series-opening 10-7 victory over the Crimson Storm. The second game in a comeback victory Wright finished the game 1-3 with a run scored and walk, before the final game of the week was his best. In the final game of the series Wright finished with three hits and a run scored while driving in four runs, on a 2-RBI double and a 2-run home run which at the time gave the Rangers the lead.
The Rangers will be home this upcoming weekend on March 15th and 16th against Arkansas Tech with the series opener Friday evening at 6:00 PM.Â
