Rangers Win Series over the Bulldogs in Regular Season Finale

WEATHERFORD, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Baseball closed out the regular season Sunday afternoon with an 8-6 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State for the series victory. After the Bulldogs tied the game a two run eighth inning helped the Rangers seal the win. 

Northwestern finishes the regular season with a 31-18 overall on the season with a 19-13 conference record. 

Overall in the victory Dylan Bradford, and Bradey Bejarano led the team with 2-hits each, as Porter Pittman led the team with two runs scored. Hagen Barcello had a team high 3-RBIs while Bejarano drove in two. 

Will Kates threw 2.1 innings getting his fourth win over the season while Jacob Shaw earned save number eight on the season. 

After a scoreless top of the first inning for the Rangers the Bulldogs were the first one's on the board after a 2-run home run by Syring for the 2-0 lead.

Their lead did not last long as Bradey Bejarano followed a Porter Pittman single with a 2-run home run to tie the game at two. Jacob Wiltshire went back to back with Bejarano with a solo home run to left center field for a 3-2 lead in the second inning. Jacob Fuller the Ranger starter followed with  a scoreless second inning to keep the Rangers in front 3-2.

The score remained that way into the fourth inning when Hagen Barcello extended the lead with a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Pittman for a 4-2 lead. Southwestern answered back in the fifth inning after loading the bases, a hit batter forced in their third run of the game followed by a fielder's choice to tie the game at 4-4 after five innings. 

Northwestern grabbed the lead back in the seventh inning after a lead off walk to Dylan Bradford a 2-run home run by Hagen Barcello gave the Rangers a 6-4 lead in the back half of the game. Southwestern came back to tie the game though in the bottom of the seventh as a double to right field followed by a single pushed across the first run of the inning before a sacrifice fly tied the game at 6-6. 

The Rangers answered right back in the 8th inning as a lead off single by Zach Vetal, before a few batters later Paul Sachen delivered an RBI pinch hit single to left center field to give the Rangers the lead back at 7-6 scoring Jason McCarty who ran for Vetal. Dylan Bradford followed with a double down the left field line scoring Chase Hamilton for the 8-6 lead. 

Will Kates threw a scoreless eighth inning before Jacob Shaw took over, closing the game out in the ninth inning with a perfect inning. Rangers won 8-6 winning the final series of the regular season before the conference playoffs begin on May 3rd.
