ALVA, OKLAHOMA- Northwestern Oklahoma State designated hitter Chad Green earned Great American Conference Player of the Week. Northwestern went 3-1 overall last week after a mid-week win over Rogers State before winning two out of three against Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Green becomes the third Ranger Baseball player to earn conference player of the week joining Carson Wright and Trevor Saire who won earlier in the season.
Overall for the week Green hit .714 (10-14) with an OBP of .789 with five extra base hits including a home run with eight runs batted in. Green also hit for the cycle in the second game of the Southwestern series while having a slugging percentage of 1.286 over the course of the week.
The first game of the week at home against Rogers State Green went 2-3 with 2-RBIs helping the Rangers to a 4-3 victory driving in the go-ahead run making it 2-1 before extending the lead to 4-1.
In the series opener against Southwestern Oklahoma State Green finished a perfect 4-4 on the afternoon with an RBI and three runs scored helping to a 19-15 victory over the Bulldogs.
The second game Green hit for the cycle having each, a single, double, triple, and a home run while driving in five of the six runs for Northwestern and scoring three runs. He started the series a perfect 8-8 with two walks. In game three he reached base safely twice with two walks.
The Rangers will be on the road Friday evening opening the Great American Conference playoffs with first pitch at 6:00 PM in Searcy Arkansas against Harding in a best of three series.
