Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Rangers Fall to Northeastern State Sunday Afternoon

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Soccer was home against Northeastern State Sunday afternoon. The Rangers continued the homestand with the third straight home game. The Riverhawks used a first half goal to take the first lead before closing out a 3-0 win. 

Northwestern falls to 1-2-1 on the season while Northeastern improves to 4-0 on the year. 

Rachel Brown faced 13 shots on goal having 10 saves in the game. Victoria Ruvalcaba had two shots along with Adrianna Gutierrez each team highs along with one shot on goal.Rangers had four in total with the other two shots on goal from Emerson Curd and Isabella Mcmillan

Northeastern State had a scoring change in the opening of the game with three straight corner kicks leading to a couple of shots but Rachel Brown was able to keep the game scoreless. The Rangers' at the 21st minute of the game had back to back corner kicks leading to a shot by Tanah Huffines but the shot was high. 

Brown later faced another offensive attack from the Riverhawks as the visitors had three shots on goal in the sequence as Rachel Brown turned away all of them. It was the 30th minute of the half at 30:36 when Whitney Gentry found the back of the net and the game's first goal as Northeastern State led 1-0. 

The game remained 1-0 into the halftime break. 

Isabella Mcmillan had a shot on goal that was saved by the Northeastern goalkeeper Rebecca Partyka which led to a Ranger corner kick. 

After two saves by Brown and stopping a corner kick Northeastern found the back of the net again in the 69th minute on a goal by Olivia Kucharyski. Three minutes later Kucharyski struck again with her second goal of the half giving the Riverhawks a 3-0 lead. 

Northeastern State held on to the 3-0 win over the Rangers. 

Northwestern will be back in action on Wednesday evening when the Rangers host Newman University with the scheduled start time 7:00 PM.
