Monkey Island, Oklahoma - Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Golf finished the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational at the Shangri La Country Club. The Rangers placed 8th overall after a two round tournament of 296 and 288 for a total of 584. The Rangers did have the overall tournament winner in Mathieu Zerwin.
The overall winner was Arkansas Fort-Smith finishing with a 578 in the tournament (295-283).
Zerwin won the whole tournament for the individual standings at the invitational finishing a total of 138 (-6) with round scores of 68 and 70 between the two. He finished with 20 pars in the tournament 10 on each day, along with 11 total birdies. The 68 in round one is his lowest round for the season.
The second Ranger in the invitational was Pierce Geminden placing fourth overall in the tournament with a final total of 142 (75-67). The 67 by Geminden is a new single round record low for Ranger golf. He finished with 22 pars, and eight birdies through the invitational.
Davan Smith finished the invitational with 19 pars helping him to a 40th place finish in the tournament overall. He added seven birdies through the two days. He had a total of 149 after a 72 in round one followed by a 77 in round two.
The next Rangers was Max Courange placing 75th overall. He improved in round two by six after an 81 to start the tournament followed the next day with a 75. Courange had 19 pars, along with four birdies to finish the tournament.
Magnus Fabian finished the tournament 80th overall after a 158 total with an 82 in day one before knocking his score down six to a 76 in round two. He totaled 14 total pars with nine of them coming on day two. He had five total birdies in the tournament.
Northwestern will be in action next week against Henderson State in Hot Springs Arkansas for the Battle for the Belt hosted by Henderson State University.
