Rangers Shut Down East Central

ADA, Okla. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's soccer team defeated East Central, 3-0, on Wednesday.

The victory moves the Rangers to 8-0-1 on the season, continuing the best start in program history. The win also makes this nine-game unbeaten streak the longest since joining the NCAA, tying a streak from October of 2022.

Christi-Anne Mills set the tone for the match, as she scorched a ball into the bottom of the net 45 seconds into the game to put the Rangers up 1-0. Northwestern never looked back, as the Ranger defense continued to hold the Tigers the rest of the first half to take the lead into halftime.

Northwestern's offense found another gear in the early part of the second half, as Luana San Miguel recorded her second brace of the season with goals in the 50th and 57th minute to put the Rangers up 3-0.

The Ranger offense put up a season-high 16 shots, with 10 of those shots on goal. Christi-Anne Mills, San Miguel, and Jordan Fawcett each had two shots on goal, while Jenna Mills, Jordan Bowie, and MacKenzie Hickman all had assists. Taylor Annen put up her fifth clean sheet of the season, as she saved all three shots she faced.

The Rangers will be back in action on Oct. 9th, as they take on Harding at the Alva Recreation Complex at 6 p.m.
