ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball showed strong moments at the net but fell in straight sets to Ouachita Baptist University on Friday evening in Great American Conference play, 25:18, 25:21, 25:12.
The Rangers started off the game strong with a 9:2 run and had the lead of five points, but The Tigers did not give up and took over the lead at 17:17. The Rangers could not keep up and lost the first set. After dropping the opening frame, Northwestern settled in during the second set, trading points with Ouachita in a series of long rallies before the Tigers pulled away late and won the set again. The Rangers carried their energy into the third set, keeping pace early before Ouachita pulled away late to secure the sweep.
Ivanny Blackwood led the team in kills with nine while
Tess De Zanet added six.
Jadyn Padilla has 11 digs.
Mikayla White was the leader in assists for The Rangers with 26 and nine digs.
The Rangers will be playing back at home next Thursday and Friday. Thursday they are facing Harding University at 6 p.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse.
