ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Volleyball team dropped a tightly contested four set match to the Harding Bisons.
Set one was tightly contested as both teams traded the lead. Northwestern found an early lead going up 11-6 and never looked back taking the first set 25-15. The Rangers were lead offensively in the first set by Mikayla White who accounted for three of their points and assisted in three other points.
Set two was close all the way through yet again, this time Harding would pull away using a six point run to give them a 12-6 lead midway through the second set. The set would get as close 20-17 but Northwestern could not overcome the deficit and dropped set two 25-18 to Harding. Ece Ozdemir lead the Rangers offensively accounting for four of Northwestern's points.
The third set was no different as both teams once again played a close set, that saw multiple lead changes up to the final point. The Bisons used a five point run late to take set three 25-23. Mikayla White lead Northwestern in set three tallying nine kills and eight assists.
The fourth and final set of the night looked like it was going to follow the first three sets early on, but Harding used a six point run midway through the set to jump out to a 13-5 lead over Northwestern. The Rangers continued to fight and battle back but the Bisons lead was too much to overcome and they would drop the fourth set 25-16.
Northwestern will be in action tomorrow night inside Percefull Fieldhouse against Arkansas Tech at 4 p.m.
