Rangers Drop Road Game to Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State football team fell to Henderson State, 59-0, on Saturday afternoon.

The Reddies marched down the field on their opening drive for a quick touchdown, and the Rangers quickly made it to midfield before stalling out. The Reddies tried to strike again, but Aiden Lewis snatched the ball away to end the Henderson State drive.

The Ranger defense continued to make stop after stop after the interception, but the Reddies drove 98 yards just before halftime to take a 31-0 lead into the locker room.

The Rangers had their longest drive of the day at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter, as they racked up 47 yards in nine plays and reached the red zone before missing a 45-yard field goal. The Reddies would tack on four touchdowns in the second half for a 59-0 victory.

Jax Bernard led the Rangers in passing with 104 yards and 12 completions on 23 attempts, while Kaedric Cobbs ran for 65 yards on his first 11 carries of the season. Ivory Wilright led Northwestern in receiving with five catches for 40 yards.

On the defensive side, Rock Schomaker led the Rangers with seven total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, while Lorenzo York Jr. recorded six total tackles.

The Rangers will head down to Paul Laird Field in Durant on Oct. 18th for a battle with Southeastern at 2 p.m.
