DURANT, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State football team fell to Southeastern on Saturday, 56-14.
The Rangers got off to a slow start with a three-and-out on the opening drive, while the Savage Storm marched down the field to take a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. After another Ranger punt, Southeastern tacked on another touchdown to take a 14-0 lead at the end of the opening quarter. Southeastern struck again with three more touchdowns to take a 35-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half,
Beck Moss led the Rangers down the field with a four minute, 72-yard drive that ended with Moss connecting with
Merric Judd from nine yards out to give the Rangers their first points of the day.
The Savage Storm answered the three more touchdowns, but the Rangers scored again when
Caleb Deal plunged into the end zone to cap a 54-yard drive that brought the final score to 56-14.
Moss led the Rangers in passing, as he finished with 72 yards and a touchdown on five completions out of 11 attempts.
Kaedric Cobbs finished with 34 rushing yards on 18 carries, while
Isaiah Taylor led in receiving with 2 grabs for 61 yards.
On the defensive side,
Rock Schomaker led the Rangers with 11 total tackles, including a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss. Schomaker also forced and recovered a fumble.
Aiden Lewis recorded eight tackles, while
Terry McCutcheon had seven tackles, including a tackle for loss.
The Rangers will be back in action on Oct. 25th, when they take on Southern Nazarene at Ranger Field at 3 p.m. to cap off homecoming weekend.
