ALVA, OKLA. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Soccer team used a first half goal to defeat Oklahoma Baptist 1-0.
Â
The first half of the contest was a defensive battle as both teams held strong and did not allow many looks at the net. Northwestern was able to get on the board late in the half with a Christi-Anne Mills goal giving them a 1-0 lead. The Ranger defense was the difference maker in the first half keeping the Bison at bay, holding them to two total shots in the half.
Â
The Ranger defensive line was tested more in the second half as the Bison put nine shots toward the net. Despite the pressure, Northwestern held tough to keep Oklahoma Baptist off the scoreboard. Ellie Dang and Kamalei Kealoha anchored the Ranger defense playing the full 90 minutes of the match.
Â
The Rangers will be in action again on October 25th, as they host East Central for Homecoming.
