ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State defender Elie Dang was one of three players that earned the Great American Conference defensive player of the week for week eight of the soccer season.

Dang helped lead the Rangers in a 1-0 shutout victory over East Central, with Dang playing all 90 minutes. This is not only Dang's first defensive player of the week win, but it's also the first time that the Rangers have won the defensive player of the week award this season.

The Rangers will be back in action on Oct. 30, as they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on Ouachita Baptist at 1 p.m.
