ALVA, Okla. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Volleyball team defeated McPherson College in three sets.
 
Set one saw multiple lead changes early on but Northwestern broke away with a 7-2 run, on their way to a 15-10 lead midway through the set. Northwestern would end the set on a 10-5 run to take the first set 25-15 over the Bulldogs. Leading the way for the Rangers was Cameryn Barclay with 3 kills and 1.5 blocks.
 
The Rangers found themselves in an early hole to begin set two, as the Bulldogs got out to a 5-2 lead. Northwestern would battle back to regain the lead 8-7. The middle part of the set was a back and forth battle, as both teams took turns with the lead. Northwestern was able to pull away and take set two 25-20. Ece Ozdemir and Katherine Harris led the Rangers with 4 kills apiece.
 
McPherson once again jumped in front early in set three, going up by as much as 5-2 over Northwestern. The Rangers once again rallied back to tie the game at 12 midway through the set. Both teams would trade the lead for a better part of the set, but Northwestern found momentum late and took set three 25-21. 
 
Northwestern will return to action on Thursday October 30th, when they welcome East Central to town for a Great American Conference match up at 6 p.m.
