ALVA, Okla. – A pair of Rangers took home hardware for week five of the season, as
Luana San Miguel earned the Great American Conference offensive player of the week, while
Taylor Annen won GAC goalkeeper of the week.
This is the second consecutive week that San Miguel has received the award, and it is the third time that a Ranger has been named offensive player of the week this season. This is the first time this season that the Rangers have received multiple awards for one week.
San Miguel scored two goals in the Ranger win over East Central, as she scored both goals in the second half to put the game away. The victory also marked the second brace of the season for San Miguel, as she also scored two goals against Southern Nazarene.
Annen helped lock down the Tigers by saving all three shots on goal sent her way. She recorded her fifth shutout of the season, which is the most by a single goalkeeper since 2021. This is the second time Annen has won goalkeeper of the week this year.
The Rangers will be back in action on Oct. 9th, when they take on Harding at the Alva Recreation Complex at 6 p.m.
