Rangers Drop Road Game to Harding

The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's soccer team fell to Harding, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops the Rangers to 10-4-2 on the season, as they still need four points to clinch a spot in the Great American Conference tournament.

The Rangers got off to a great start, as they capitalized off an own goal by the Lady Bisons to take a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the game. The Ranger defense dug in for the first half, as Taylor Annen saved all four shots on goal she faced to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Ranger defense continued to face the Harding onslaught of shots, but a penalty kick in the 52nd minute tied the score at 1-1. Four minutes later, the Lady Bisons struck again with another goal to give them the lead. As rain began to fall, the Ranger offense could not respond, and Harding got another goal in the 73rd minute to put the score at 3-1.

The Rangers only had two total shots on the day, with Christi-Anne Mills and MacKenzie Hickman each having one. Hickman's shot was the only shot on goal of the day for the Rangers.

The Rangers will be back in action on Nov. 5, as they travel to Weatherford to take on Southwestern at 3 p.m.
