Rangers Fall in Final Seconds to Jamestown

BETHANY, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State men's basketball team fell to Jamestown, 68-66, in the second day of the GAC-NSIC challenge on Saturday.

The Rangers and Jimmies battled back-and-forth in the first half, as neither side was able to pull away. The Rangers quickly jumped out to a 13-6 lead in the first eight minutes behind multiple baskets from Max Alexander and Keyondre Young. The Jimmies of Jamestown eventually clawed back to tie the game at 13-13, but the Ranger defense held strong and went into the locker room with a 33-31 lead. The Rangers shot right at 50 percent in the half, making 15 of their 30 shots.

In the second half, the Rangers continued to expand the lead up to ten with 13 minutes to go off a 9-2 run, but the Jimmies once again crawled back to cut the deficit to two with ten minutes left in the game. The Rangers and Jimmies continued the exchange blows late into the game, as the lead changed three times in the final two minutes. The Jimmies made two free throws with 11 seconds left to win the game 68-66.

Alexander led the Rangers in scoring with 22 points, while Justin Norris led in rebounds with eight. Cam'ron Brown led Northwestern in assists with six.

The Rangers will be back in action on Nov. 18, when they travel to Alamosa, Colorado to take on Adams State University at 7 p.m.
