ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball team battled Southeastern Oklahoma State University this Thursday evening. Unfortunately, The Rangers lost to The Savage Storms in three sets (20:25, 16:25, 18:25).
Northwestern struck first in the first set of the game, Southeastern answered right back and gained a lead of three points at 5:2. The Rangers then tied the game at 6:6 but could not get the lead and ended up losing the set 20:25.
The Rangers could not find the rhythm at the beginning of the second set as Southeastern started the set 6:1. Northwestern tried to fight back but Southeastern kept pulling away forcing The Rangers to take a timeout at 4:12. The Rangers struggled to fight back and lost the second set by nine points 16:25. Southeastern was now leading Northwestern 2:0.
For the third set of the game Rangers came out with a 4:0 lead. Unfortunately, Southeastern tied the set at 5:5. Since then the game was pretty close as both teams were battling for points. Southeastern then took over the lead at 11:10 and won the set by seven points 25:18 and the game 3:0.
The Rangers were led by
Ece Ozdemir with 13 kills, Katherine Harris added nine kills, two aces and 14 digs.
Mikayla White had 24 assists.
Jadyn Padilla added 13 digs.
The Rangers will travel to Shawnee to face Oklahoma Baptist University next Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.
