Ranger Basketball is home Saturday against the Bison

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Men's Basketball team (12-11, 9-8 GAC) is back home Saturday afternoon to face Oklahoma Baptist (15-8, 12-5 GAC). Rangers will look to end a two-game losing streak after Thursday's loss to Southwestern.

This will be the 32nd meeting in the series between the two programs since 2007 as Northwestern trails the series history 10-21. Oklahoma Baptist won the first meeting of the series in early January 74-52. Oklahoma Baptist leads 3-2 in the last five games in the series and is 8-7 overall in Alva. Max Alexander led the team with 23 points in the game, one of two double-figure scorers.

In the loss to Southwestern on Thursday the Rangers were led by Camron McDowell with 35 points and Max Alexander with 25 points in the game, the two Ranger double-figure scorers. DaRaun Clark had nine points and four steals.

The Rangers are led by Camron McDowell and Max Alexander, averaging the most on the team. McDowell is scoring 26.3 points per game which is first in the conference and third in the nation.McDowell is averaging 31.0 points per game over the last five games and has scored at least 30 in three straight games. Alexander scores 20.6 points per game for third in the conference. Alexander is fifth in the conference in assists with 4.5 per game. Kabeya Tshibangu is fourth in the conference in offensive rebounds with 2.39.

McDowell is the team leader in steals with 43 which is second in the conference followed by Max Alexander with 40 which is fourth in the conference. Tshibangu leads the team with 24 blocks on the year which is third in the conference and third in blocks per game at 1.09 he has added 20 steals on the season as well. He is the team-leading rebounder this season with 6.4 per game.

Rangers are first in the league in turnovers forced per game at 15.68 and first in turnover margin. Northwestern is first in free throws made this season in the conference, and second in free throw percentage. 

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST:

The Bison have won two straight games entering play on Saturday with wins over Arkansas Tech and Southern Nazarene. The Bison are 3-2 overall in their last five games.

In the win over the Crimson Storm, Oklahoma Baptist was led by Terry Coner with 20 points, one of three players in double figures along with Daniel Ransom and JC Curry with 16 and 14 points.

Terry Coner Jr. is the team's leading scorer with 15.4 points per game, one of three double-figure scorers joined by Daniel Ransom at 10.9 and Ricky Brown at 10.1 points per game. Coner Jr. leads the team in assists with 65 on the season. 

The defense is led by Nathan Wilson with 30 blocks on the season which is a team high while having 24 steals as well which is second on the team. Coner Jr. has the team-high in steals with 34 on the season. Nathan Wilson is the team-leading rebounder with 7.8 per game.

The Bison are the number one rebounding team in the conference with 37.87 per game, marking first in defensive rebounds and third in offensive rebounds.
