Logan Howlett Named Head Director of Sports Performance Coach

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Vice President for Athletics Brad Franz announced the hiring of Logan Howlett as the Director of Sports Performance coach for the Rangers.

I know he will work to build our student-athletes every day to be in the best physical condition possible.  His work ethic and knowledge are tremendous, and I know our coaches are looking forward to working with him", stated Vice President for athletics Brad Franz
 
Howlett has been with Mount St. Mary's University since August 2021, where he was the assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. His primary assignments included six sports from Men's & Women's Water Polo, Women's Rugby, Men's Soccer, and Men's & Women's Tennis.
 
He created and designed the training programs for these sports. In addition, he assisted the head strength and conditioning coach with other sports, including the Men's and Women's basketball teams' lift programs.

Howlett organized and monitored performances across training sessions and organized and scheduled the weekly weight room sessions. He also acted as the Nutrition liaison, partnering with the sports nutritionist.
 
Before his time at Mount St. Mary's University, He was an assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Frostburg State University, where he served as the primary strength coach of Women's Acrobatics & Tumbling, Women's Field Hockey, Women's Soccer, and Track & Field. He also worked with the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Football. He collaborated and worked with a strength coach on day-to-day training and operations.
 
Howlett was an explosive sports performance coach at OneLife Fitness, where he performed athlete monitoring and observed sports performance with high school and collegiate athletes. He conducted fitness assessments through appointments and screenings of athletes' fitness.
 
Howlett started his career working in the student weight room as a staff member, where he supervised the daily operations of Frostburg State. He managed regular equipment inspections and coordinated maintenance as needed, while working directly with the strength and conditioning coach.
 
Howlett holds a degree from Frostburg State University in Exercise & Sports Science, which he earned as part of his bachelor's degree. He is currently working on his Master's degree in Strength & Conditioning and Sports Nutrition.
