DURANT, Okla. – The Northwestern Lady Rangers volleyball team traveled to Durant, to face Southeastern Oklahoma State University this Tuesday night. The Rangers had all three very close sets of the game but unfortunately could not overcome the Savage Storms and lost 0-3.
The Northwestern Rangers struck first to start of the game 2:0. The Rangers' biggest lead of the first set was six points at 11:5 and they led the set until the last couple of plays. The Savage Storms showed their skills and came back from the six point deficit to win the set by two points 28:26.
The second set of the game started off with The Lady Rangers going on a 4:0 run. They had led the game at the beginning of the set until Southeastern tied the set at 8:8. From then the set was extremely close and The Lady Rangers fought for every point but were unsuccessful to win and finished the second set losing by two points 24:26.
The third and final set of the game started with Southeastern scoring two points and starting the set with a lead. It didn't take long for The Rangers to take over the lead and be in front of or tied with the Savage Storms until 18:18. Southeastern then took over the lead again and finished the set by winning by three points 25:22.
The Lady Rangers were led by Naya Danenberg with 16 kills, eight digs, one block and two aces.
Ece Ozdemir added 14 kills, six digs, one ace and one block.
Mikayla White had 36 assists and two blocks.
Jadyn Padilla finished the game with 14 digs and one ace.
Northwestern will be home on Thursday evening with a match against Southern Nazarene University with start time set for 6 p.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse.
