Rangers Dominate Southern Nazarene In 3-0 Sweep

ALVA, Okla. — The Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers women's volleyball team delivered a commanding performance on their home court, securing a decisive 3-0 sweep against Southern Nazarene University. The Rangers controlled the match from start to finish with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-12.

While the first two sets were closely contested, with the Rangers winning each by a narrow 25-22 margin, Northwestern's grit and determination shone through in key moments. The final set, however, was a different story. The Rangers found another gear and started the set off with a 6-0 run, completely overwhelming the Southern Nazarene defense and holding them to just 12 points to win the match, 3-0.

The Rangers' victory was fueled by an exceptional offensive outing, with the team tallying 45 kills and an impressive .295 hitting percentage, significantly higher than Southern Nazarene's .204. The attack was spearheaded by Ece Ozdemir, who was a force on both offense and defense, leading the team with 17 kills and contributing 10 digs for a double-double. She also added one ace. Tess De Zanet also had a stellar performance, adding 11 kills, two blocks and three crucial aces. Ivanny Blackwood added eight kills and two blocks. The Rangers' offense was orchestrated with precision by setter Mikayla White, who posted a match-high 30 assists and added eight digs of her own.

The Rangers will be back at home to face Oklahoma Baptist University on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m.
