Rangers Battle GAC Leaders In Three Set Match At Percefull Fieldhouse

ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball team showcased grit and determination in front of the Percefull Fieldhouse Tuesday night. The Rangers lost to the Great American Conference leader Oklahoma Baptist University in three sets (25-18, 25-17, 25-19).

The Red and Black refused to back down against the undefeated GAC squad, demonstrating resilience on both sides of the net. The Bisons set the tone early and started off the first set with a 6:0 run. The Rangers tried to come back to being down only by one point. The rest of the set was close until The Bisons went on an 8:3 run and won the set 25:18. The beginning of the second set was much closer but that wasn't enough for The Rangers to stay with The Bisons, and Rangers lost 17:25. The third and final set was the closest one out of them all. The Rangers fought until the last minute but just could not succeed in forcing set four.

Attacker Ece Ozdemir delivered the offensive spark for the Rangers, tallying a team-high 10 kills against a tough Bisons defense. Fellow attacker Tess De Zanet provided a powerful all-around effort, recording seven kills and getting in on two blocks for the night. Naya Danenburg anchored the back line, digging out 12 attacks to control the floor, closely supported by Jadyn Padilla, who contributed 11 digs. Directing the offense, setter Mikayla White finished with 14 assists.

The Rangers are heading to Weatherford this Thursday to face The Southwestern Oklahoma State University Dawgs.
