Bethany, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's soccer team outlasted Southern Nazarene, 3-2, on Saturday.
The win moves the Rangers to 7-0-1 on the season, extending the best start in program history.
Northwestern had control in the first half, with
Luana San Miguel scoring six minutes into the game to put the Rangers ahead.
Jenna Mills tacked on a goal in the 36th minute from a penalty kick to extend the lead to 2-0 at halftime.
The Rangers started the second half right where they left off, as San Miguel struck again in the 47th minute with her second goal of the day to push the lead to 3-0. The Crimson Storm scored two goals in the next 20 minutes, but the Ranger defense tightened up to keep the Rangers unbeaten.
San Miguel and
Christi-Anne Mills led the Rangers in shots with three each, while
Jenna Mills had two.
The Rangers will be back in action on Oct. 1st, as they travel to Ada to take on East Central at 3 p.m.
