Ranger Softball Closes Series Against East Central

ADA, Ok. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball team lose their final game against the East Central University Tigers and drop the series 2-1.

Jamie Molina singled for the first hit of the game for Northwestern. She remained stranded on the bases as the Rangers failed to bring her in. Junior pitcher Madelyn Cason started ib the mound for Northwestern and struck out the first Tiger batter. East Central would leave one runner stranded on the bases.

Both Northwestern and East Central struggled offensively as the pitchers dueled through three innings. Neither team could find a rhythm offensively. This changed in the bottom of the fourth inning after East Central scored the first run of the game after a Ranger error. The Tigers proceeded to score two more runs in the inning after a RBI double and single to take a 3-0 lead after four innings.

East Central proceeded to add to their lead with a home run in the bottom of the fifth. Northwestern couldn't respond and they drop this game 4-0. Madelyn Cason had three strikeouts and Grace Hulsey struck out two batters. Northwestern will have their home opener Friday against Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
