ALVA, Okla - The Northwestern Oklahoma State softball team earned their first home victory of the 2026 season with a 6-3 win over Southeastern.
Southeastern opened the scoring in the first inning with a two run home run to take an early 2-0 lead over Northwestern. The Rangers got multiple runners on base through the first two innings but were not able to push them across.
Northwestern tied the game up at two with the help of a Kaitlyn Corn home run in the bottom of the third inning. A Kaylee Madden single and Jamie Molina double put Northwestern in striking position, bringing Delaynie Esterly to the plate for the Rangers who scored Madden on a sac fly to give Northwestern a 3-2 lead.
Esterly once again drove in Madden this time in the bottom of the fifth inning to add to the Lady Rangers lead. Northwestern wasn't done there as Makanalei Lepara hit a single that brought in two more runs to put the Rangers up, 6-2.
The Rangers will be back in action tomorrow to close out the three-game series against the Savage Storm at the Alva Rec Complex, with the first pitch at 1 p.m.
