ODESSA, TX - Northwestern Oklahoma State softball lost the final two games of the four game series against the University of Texas Permian Basin on Saturday. UTPB would sweep the series after winning the first two games on Friday.
The Rangers lost the first game of the double header after not being able to produce anything offensively.
Kaylee Madden and
Taygan Graham had the only hits for Northwestern. The Falcons struck out the Rangers seven times in their shut out win.
Pitcher
Madelyn Cason gave up a two run homer in the bottom of the fourth. She had three strikeouts and Grace Husley had two.
The Falcons would start Game 2 of the double header with a solo home run in the bottom of the first.
Gabrielle Sanchez responded with a home run of her own in the top of the fourth to even the game at 1-1.
Savannah Duran hit an RBI single later in the inning to take the lead 2-1.
Pitcher
Chloe Brown had three strikeouts in her outing. In the bottom of the sixth, the Falcons hit a double after a Northwestern pitching change to take the lead 3-2.
Northwestern had two ground outs and a fly out to end the game as UTPB swept the series.
