ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State softball team split the Tuesday midweek with Fort Hays State with a 6-2 game two win.
The Rangers found themselves down early in game one, as Fort Hays scratched across a run in the second inning. The Tigers added five more in the third to lead Northwestern 6-0.
The Rangers found their way onto the scoreboard in the fourth after a Tiger error allowed
Jamie Molina to get on base and a second allowed her to score later in the inning. Northwestern added another run to their total on a
Taygan Graham single that brought in
Gabrielle Sanchez.
Northwestern took the lead in the bottom of the fifth with the help of a two run double by Molina.
Raelynn Sandlin brought it to one shortly after with a single that plated Molina. Two batters later the Rangers tied things up on a
Makanalei Lapera single that scored one run, and take the lead the next at bat as
Savannah Duran singled to left field to score Sandlin.
Unfortunately the Tigers would regain the lead scoring two runs in the next inning, The Rangers answered back in the seventh on a Duran double to left field.
Northwestern would give up four runs in the eighth and dropped game one in extras.
In the second game of the afternoon, Fort Hays once again jumped out to an early lead. The Rangers answered immediately in the first with a Molina double to left that score
Kaitlyn Corn and an
