Rangers Wrap Up Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State men's golf team finished sixth at the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.

Central Oklahoma won the tournament by shooting five over par as a team, while Karsten Paciotti of Central Oklahoma won the individual tournament with rounds of 83, 75, and 69.

Chris Xiao led the Rangers, as he finished in 11th out of 98 golfers by shooting 77 in the first two rounds and 73 in the final round. Matti Zerwin also recorded a top 15 finish, as he shot 77 in the first round with three birdies, 75 in the second round with three more birdies, and 76 in the final round with two birdies and an eagle on hole 17.

Pierce Geminden got off to a strong start with 74 in the first round, 81 in the second round, and 76 in the third round. Zac Farmer opened up the tournament with a round of 87, but bounced back with 79 in the second round and 75 with three birdies in the final round. An-chieh Tsai rounded out the Rangers with rounds of 80, 80, and 84.

The Rangers will be back in action on April 19, when they travel to the Forest Ridge Golf Club in Broken Arrow for the Great American Conference Championship.
