Rangers Fall to Tigers in Friday Double Header

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State softball team dropped both games of their double header with Ouachita Baptist falling in the first game 7-0 and 7-0 in game two.

Game one saw both teams scoreless through the first two innings. Ouachita Baptist put the first runs on the board via a two run double in the bottom of the third. The Tigers added two more in the bottom of the fourth to put the Rangers down 4-0.

Northwestern got a few runners on in the next few innings but the Tigers pitching staff kept the Rangers off the board. The Tigers added three more runs to their total with one run in the fifth and two in the sixth to bring the score to 7-0. The Rangers got a runner on in the seventh but could not do much more as Northwestern dropped game one 7-0.

Game two saw Ouachita again start the scoring, putting two runs on the board with a two-run homerun. The Tigers pitching staff kept the Ranger bats quiet as they did not get a hit nor a runner on for the first three innings.

Katy Jones kept the Tigers bats at bay for the next three innings until the home half of the fifth when Ouachita Baptist put five more on the board. Northwestern got a runner on with a walk to start the sixth but could not capitalize. The Rangers had no luck in the top of the seventh either as they dropped game two and the series to Ouachita Baptist.

Northwestern will be back on the diamond on Tuesday April 21st when they welcome Newman to town.
