Alva, Okla. - After walking off the Bulldogs in Game 1, the Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball team took both games of their doubleheader against Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Pitcher Chloe Brown started the game for Northwestern. The senior from Coalgate Oklahoma tossed 4 strikeouts and had 1 earned run in the Rangers Game 1 victory.
The game remained stagnant throughout three innings as both teams' pitchers were putting on a clinic.
Kaylee Madden opened the game for Northwestern after hitting a single through the first base line that scored two runs. Savannah Duran would score later in the inning to give the Rangers a 3-0 advantage.
Southwestern scored two runs after an error by the second baseman to cut Northwestern's lead to one.
Southwestern would even the game at 3 a piece after scoring a run in the top of the sixth inning.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jamie Molina hit a walk off single to score the game winning run.
Rangers took Game 1 4-3.
Game 2 would continue to see phenomenal pitching from Northwestern.
Madelyn Cason threw 2 strikeouts, 3 hits and didn't allow a single run.
The Rangers lone run came in the bottom of the third inning after Makanlei Lapera scored on an error.
The Rangers will be back at home for the final game of the series at 12 pm.
