ALVA, Okla. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball team dropped the last game of the series against Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The Rangers take the series 2-1.
Game three saw back and forth action between both teams.
Pitcher Katy Jones started on the mound for the Rangers.
Southwestern got on the board first in the top of the second inning after a fielder's choice.
Northwestern responded with two runs after RBI singles in the bottom of the third.
Southwestern scored in the following inning after a wild pitch and an RBI triple.
The Rangers answered with an RBI single from Makanlei Lapera tying the game at 3-3. The Bulldogs scored three unearned runs after multiple errors from the Ranger defense in the top of the fifth.
Northwestern cut Southwestern's lead to one after two fielder choices in the bottom of the fifth.
Southwestern would add an insurance run in the top of the sixth.
The Bulldogs take game three, 7-5.
Northwesten wins the series and they'll be back at home on Friday to face Harding at 6 p.m.
