ALVA, Okla-- The Northwestern Ranger softball team's comeback ultimately fell short against the Harding Bisons in game one of the series.
Both teams performed well defensively. There were a combined three runs and nine hits between both teams.Â
Madelyn Cason pitched a phenomenal game. The junior from Henrietta, TX only allowed 2 runs.
The game remained within two runs and in the bottom of the seventh,
Savannah Duran started the rally for the Rangers.Â
After being called out at first, Northwestern challenged the call. Â
Gabrielle Sanchez hit a scorching hot double that scored Duran and now the game was within one.Â
The Rangers were unable to bring in Sanchez as they dropped game one, 2-1.Â
There will be a doubleheader tomorrow at home to end the season, with the first game starting at noon.
