TULSA, Okla. - The Northwestern Rangers women's golf team opened the 2026-27 season with a 9th place finish at the NSU Women's Classic at Page Belcher Golf Course. 
 

Senior Heather Hunkele led the way for the Rangers posting a score of 159 (78-81) over two rounds of play. Hunkele secured a 36th place finish overall. Senior Amanda Lane followed shooting a 160 (83-77). Junior Veronica Rodriguez shot consistently over the 2 days with a 19 over par 161 (80-81). Senior Kelsey Pollard (79-91) and Freshman Olivia Platow (86-84) tied for a score of 170. The Rangers finished in 9th place defeating GAC rivals Southern Arkansas and East Central in the process. The Rogers State Hillcats won the tournament. 
 

Up next, the Rangers head to Andover, Kansas to compete in the Newman Invitational on Sept. 21-22 at the Terradyne Country Club.
