Rangers Fall in Season Opener

SEARCY, Ark. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State football team fell to No. 2 Harding, 76-0, on Thursday night.

The Rangers got off to a slow start, with the Bisons scoring 34 points in the first quarter, with the Northwestern defense stepping up on back-to-back drives in the second quarter, as Alexander McLain and Cade Reynolds forced fumbles, while Wyatt Potter recovered them. The Rangers could not keep the Bisons scoreless in the quarter, as they trailed 48-0 at the half.

Harding added three more touchdowns in the third quarter to extend their lead to 69-0, and tacked on another touchdown before the game was called by the conference with 13:15 remaining in the fourth quarter, when a Harding player had a medical emergency on the sidelines, giving the Bisons a 76-0 win.

The Rangers will be back in action on Sept. 10, when they take on Arkansas Tech at Ranger Field at 6 p.m.
