Retter Named Conference Player of the Week

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Linebacker Kollin Retter was named Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a strong performance on Saturday.

Retter - a true Freshman from Yukon, Okla. - collected 10 tackles, grabbed a pair of interceptions and forced two fumbles against nationally-ranked Henderson State.

"Kollin is an extremely hard worker who has gotten better every week," said Northwestern head coach Alan Hall. "He's taken advantage of his opportunities by preparing himself each week mentally and physically and has been a very valuable addition to our team."

Through five weeks, Retter is tied for the team lead with 32 tackles and also leads the Rangers in tackles for loss, interceptions and forced fumbles.

He becomes the first Northwestern student-athlete to win one of the GAC's weekly awards this school year.
