Tigers Rise Up in Final Minutes Over Rangers

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Great American Conference was defeated by Great American Conference foe East Central Saturday afternoon by a final score of 42-40.

Individual Leaders

Leading the Northwestern offense in scoring this afternoon was Deja Beechum who finished the contest with nine total points, shooting 3-5 from the field, 3-3 from three point range.
Jaylan Robinson and Relina Johnson each netted seven points for the home squad with Johnson leading Northwestern in overall rebounds as well with eight total.

Game Changer

This was a closing contested match-up in the opening quarter as both teams were locked in a defensive battle, seeing the first period come to a close with the Rangers holding a slim 8-4 lead. The black-and-red saw themselves able to retain their momentum into the second quarter of play as they held a 27-20 lead at the half.
Northwestern and East Central each continued their intense play into the second half as the Rangers were up on the Tigers, 34-31 by the end of the third quarter. The home team however was leading as much as six over ECU during the period however. East Central elevated their play in the second half as they were able to outscore the Ragners 22-13 overall in the third and fourth quarters combined. This led to a 42-40 ECU victory over Northwestern.
