ALVA, Okla. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Baseball team was one-hit Saturday afternoon as the West Texas Buffs hurler, Brooks Trujillo threw a gem in an 8-0 shutout over the Rangers.
At the Plate- Due to the outstanding outing of Trujillo, the Rangers had a rough outing at the plate, recording just one hit with a single by freshman, Greg Carrington.
The K Zone- The Rangers threw six different arms in the game, starting off with Robert Lawhon who went an inning and two-thirds before Northwestern brought in Dakota Stanek to finish out the inning and throw another. The two combined threw a total five strikeouts on the day.
- Senior Brad Drury and Wyatt Carter threw the next five innings combined only giving up five hits altogether.
- Tyler Bernhardt and Blake Jones were the final two hurlers as they pitche a combined inning.
Game Changer- Trujillo was the main game changer, throwing a shutout for the Buffs.
- The Black-and-Red had a chance to get on the board in the bottom of the eighth, but came up empty following two strikeouts.
On Deck- Next up on the schedule for Northwestern will be one more contest with West Texas A&M, which will be played tomorrow afternoon at 1p.m.
