Late Game Rally By Rangers Comes Up Short

SHAWNEE, Okla. -- Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball rallied late in the 9th inning before falling to Oklahoma Baptist by a final score of 5-3.

At the Plate

Jacob Long, Cooper Stanley and Jermey Smith all recored two hits for the Rangers at the plate.
Along with two hits, Cooper Stanley batted in a run with one hit landing him on second base.

The K Zone

Matt Bickford started for the rangers as he struck out three, allowing no walks.
Kyle Renbarger closed out the pitching for the Rangers allowing no hits and no walks.

Game Changer

The Rangers and Bison were locked at zeros early in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Oklahoma Baptist bats started to come alive. A single and a home run by the Bisons broke the tie and the Rangers found themselves down 2-0 early.
The Bison would keep their hot batting going again in the next inning as the Bison doubled scoring two more runs as OBU took the 5-0 lead.
The Rangers would rally late scoring three runs in the bottom of the 9th inning however, two straight fly outs would seal the victory for the Bison 5-3.

On Deck

Northwestern will finish off the series with OBU tomorrow afternoon when they will take the field for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
