At the Plate The K Zone
  • Starting on the mound for the Black-and-Red was Dakota Stanek who took the mound for three innings, giving up seven hits as well as surrendering three runs, all of which were earned.
  • Trevor Rakers came on to relieve Stanek, throwing an inning and two-thirds, giving up one run in the process.
  • Thomas Sander relieved Rakers and had a rough two-thirds innings, giving up three runs.
  • Brody Ausfahl was next on the bump, pitching .2 innings before Jason Freeman came on to pitch for an inning.
  • Kyle Renbarger finished off the game for the visitors and came away with the loss in the end as OC was able to plate a run in their final at bat.
Game Changer
  • Starting off the game, Carrington walked, Smith and Bess singled, after which Stanley brought home two of the three base runners to start off the game in 2-0 fashion in favor of the visitors.
  • In the bottom half of the first, the Eagles scored two runs of their own to tie it up at two apiece.
  • Northwestern scored another two in the second inning, after which OC answered with one of their own to make it 4-3 after two innings of play.
  • The Rangers plated another in the third inning to take a two-run lead, which would last until the bottom of the fifth inning where the home team would cut the deficit to one.
  • Four more runs were plated for the Eagles in the sixth inning, making it an 8-5 game, but Northwestern had an answer in the eighth when Smith laced a double to left center scoring three of his teammates to tie it up at eight.
  • The final at bat for OC would do the Rangers in however as the Eagles scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch ending the game.
