EDMOND, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State was in the game much of the way against the Oklahoma Christian Eagles, but the Eagles prevailed in the final inning where they took the victory in one-run fashion, 9-8.
At the Plate
The K Zone
- Starting on the mound for the Black-and-Red was Dakota Stanek who took the mound for three innings, giving up seven hits as well as surrendering three runs, all of which were earned.
- Trevor Rakers came on to relieve Stanek, throwing an inning and two-thirds, giving up one run in the process.
- Thomas Sander relieved Rakers and had a rough two-thirds innings, giving up three runs.
- Brody Ausfahl was next on the bump, pitching .2 innings before Jason Freeman came on to pitch for an inning.
- Kyle Renbarger finished off the game for the visitors and came away with the loss in the end as OC was able to plate a run in their final at bat.
Game Changer
- Starting off the game, Carrington walked, Smith and Bess singled, after which Stanley brought home two of the three base runners to start off the game in 2-0 fashion in favor of the visitors.
- In the bottom half of the first, the Eagles scored two runs of their own to tie it up at two apiece.
- Northwestern scored another two in the second inning, after which OC answered with one of their own to make it 4-3 after two innings of play.
- The Rangers plated another in the third inning to take a two-run lead, which would last until the bottom of the fifth inning where the home team would cut the deficit to one.
- Four more runs were plated for the Eagles in the sixth inning, making it an 8-5 game, but Northwestern had an answer in the eighth when Smith laced a double to left center scoring three of his teammates to tie it up at eight.
- The final at bat for OC would do the Rangers in however as the Eagles scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch ending the game.

- Northwestern will hit the road for a conference series against Harding. The series will begin Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
