Box Score ALVA, Okla. - The Rangers hosted non-conference opponent Newman University in a match-up that was pushed back a day do to adverse weather and dropped the contest 5-3.

The Rangers hit the ball well but could not find many gaps in the defense.

Cooper Stanley and  Left Feilder
Colton Krokroskia led the Ranger offensive attack with two hits a piece with Stanleys'  hits being a homerun and a double while Krokroskia had two singles.  Multiple  Rangers contributed to the offensive effort including
Casey Dickerman ,
Pat Delano ,
Jacob Long and
TJ Kassner.
Northwestern gave up an early run in the first inning in the form of a line drive single by the Jets but was able to get the run back in the bottom half on a
Nathan Kane ground out scoring Kassner. The score was tied until the top of the fifth where Newman would regain the lead and never look back.
StarterÂ
Thomas Sander went 4.2 innings facing 24 batters allowing three earned runs on six hits with three strike outs. His day would end in the top of the fifth.

Collin Fouts was next up for the Black-and-Red on the hill where he came on in the top of the fifth. Fouts threw 1.1 innings of work facing five batters allowing no runs and no hits allowing two walks.
Baron Phillips came on in relief of Fouts in the top of the seventh. He faced just two batters in his outing.

Blake Jones relieved Phillips in the top of the seventh where he faced six batters, surrendering a run and one hit.
Brandon Nesseralla was brought in in the top of the eighth for the home team where he faced eight batters, giving up just two hits.
Newman had five runs on nine hits. A big three run fifth inning was all Newman would need, as they never lost the lead after that inning.
The Jets starter Garret Hammond would come away with the win. He would throw four innings allowing just three hits and one run facing 15 batters.

UP NEXT
The next outing for the Rangers will be this weekend as they travel to Bethany, Okla. Where they will take on the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene University.
