HIME PROMOTED TO ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH

ALVA, Okla. – Following a successful 2018 season for the Northwestern Oklahoma State University men's and women's Ranger runners, assistant coach Brock Hime has been promoted to associate head coach for NWOSU cross country and women's track and field.

"What a wonderful commitment to the Northwestern family and our athletic program," said head coach Jill Lancaster. "Coach Hime brings a strong teaching background in the classroom as well as a proven coach and former student-athlete.

"He has been a great addition to our staff and provides a wealth of resources. His drive to be the best he can be and doing the job right fits Northwestern's goals. Coach Hime has and will continue to be a huge factor in the cross country and track and field programs successes."

Since Hime joined Coach Lancaster's staff this past May, the Ranger cross country runners had one of the most successful season's in program history, featuring a highest ever finish at the GAC Championships by the women's team.

Northwestern runners saw their times improve under the leadership of Hime. Garrison Blanton set the school record in the both 8K and 10K races this season and all 11 athletes who competed at the NCAA Central Region Championships recorded top 15 marks in school history.

In 8K races throughout the season on the men's side, 10 of the top 20 all-time performances were recorded in 2018 and eight were added in the women's top 20 in the 5K.

"I want to thank Coach Lancaster, Coach (Brad) Franz and the University administration for their trust in me during my time at Northwestern," said Hime. "I'm honored to receive the new title, but the goal of creating a hardworking and winning culture by our athletes is and always will be the ultimate goal."
