ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State hosted rival Southwestern Oklahoma State in the final doubleheader of their season series and came away with a split, but a series victory.

GAME 1
Madison Garza started in the circle, but was injured during the fourth inning on a rocket back up the middle. She was responsible for three runs in her innings of work.

Audrey Estes was unbelievable at the plate, going 3-for-3 at the dish, including a run scored. Madison McGraw also had a three-hit game, going 3-for-4. Two other Rangers had two-hit contests in Morgan Kirk (2-for-4) and Jordan Sutton (2-for-4).

Northwestern started off the scoring in the first contest of the day, putting two Rangers across in the second with a hard hit double to right center, scoring Estes and Bell. 

The visiting Bulldogs quickly answered however, plating five runs over the next two innings to take a three run lead over the Red-and-Black. The home team was resilient however as Peyton Garrett mashed a two-run homer over the left field fence, bringing it back a one-run game.

The visitors scored two more in the fifth and another in the sixth to bring their total to eight, but the Rangers had some offensive production of their own.

They answered with a run of their own in the fifth, but produced a flurry of runs in the sixth to take the squad's first lead since taking a 2-0 advantage in the bottom of two.

The five runs would prove to be enough as Karly Murray left the bases loaded and came away with her first save of the year in a 10-8 victory. Allison Wells came on in the sixth inning and earned herself a win.

GAME 2
From the opening of the game all the way through the end, Southwestern had the number of the Ranger squad, putting up 12 runs on the home squad, while holding them to none.

There were only three hits for the Red-and-Black, all by different players, Madi Parrott, McGraw and Estes.

SWOSU started the scoring in the first, plating two runs and they didn't slow down from there. Throughout the rest of the game, the Bulldogs scored in each inning.

The visitors scored three more runs in the second, four in the third, two more in the fourth and another in the final inning before shutting out the Rangers, 12-0.

Northwestern will host their next series as well when Henderson State is coming to town on Friday and Saturday for a four-game series. The games on Friday will begin at 4 p.m.
