ALVA, Okla. – Redshirt-junior James Ellis and senior Jennifer Eubanks took home the September Player of the Month honor awards after outstanding performances.
Eubanks has had a tremendous senior season to date. She currently leads the conference in hitting percentage with a .323 percentage. Second in the conference in total blocks per set. The standout senior finished the month of September with 154 kills, and 72 total blocks.
She approached a milestone of her own when she closed in on the 1,000 career kill mark before achieving the milestone later in October. Eubanks was recognized by the Great American Conference in September when she took home the GAC player of the week honor.
The senior from Copperas Cove, Texas has helped lead the Rangers to a very successful season so far as they currently sit third in the GAC standings.
Ellis has taken full advantage of an opportunity to fill in after injuries depleted the defense this season. Ellis finished the month of September with 15 solo tackles as well as assisting on 18 tackles. He had two sacks in four games with two tackles for losses.
His best game came against Arkansas-Monticello with 11 total tackles and an interception for a touchdown. The redshirt-junior from Pensacola, Florida has helped the Rangers become one of the toughest defenses in the conference.
