Alva Okla. - It will have been 15 days since the Lady Rangers last took the court in a game, where they knocked off the Tigers of East Central University 76-68 behind 17 points from Hillary Hurst. Northwestern prepares to take on two Great American Conference opponents this week Southern Arkansas in Magnolia on Thursday at 5:30p.m and University of Southern Arkansas at Monticello on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Northwestern will come into these conference games with a 6-4 record, 2-2 in GAC play. The Lady Rangers have won four of their last five games where they have averaged 79.4 points while holding opponents to just 61.6 points per game in that five game span.
The Lady Rangers are led by head coach Tasha Diesselhorst who is in her fourth season with Northwestern who led Northwestern to their first conference tournament appearance since joining the GAC last year.
NWOSU has two players in double-digit scoring in Kalea King and Bailey Brown. Brown averages 15.4 points per game and senior, King averages 14.7 a game. The junior forward Brown leads the team in rebounds with 8.3 followed by Hurst with 5.9 boards a game.
Southern Arkansas:
Southern Arkansas comes into this game with an 8-2 record, and 2-2 in conference as well. The Mulrider have won four of the last five games as well.
The Muleriders are led by head coach Adam Collins who is in his second season with the university after completing his first season with a 3-25 record, he has already surpassed that by leading them to eight wins currently.
This will be the 15th game played between the two teams, currently they have an even record of 7-7 with Northwestern taking both games the previous season by scores of 52-48 in Magnolia and 92-56 in Alva, Oklahoma.
Southern Arkansas leading scorer is freshman guard Diamond Morris with 10.6 points per game who is the Mulriders only double digit scorer. She is followed by junior forward Kisi Young with 9.3 points per game, who also leads the team with 6.3 rebounds per game.

Arkansas Monticello:
Arkansas Monticello is lead by head coach Greg Long who is in his first season with the Blossoms. He has led them to an 8-2 start in the first 10 games along with getting out to a 3-1 record in conference.
When the Lady Rangers arrive on Saturday they will be looking to hand the Blossoms their first home loss of the season as they currently are 6-0 at home. UAM are 3-2 in their last five games. They will open play after winter break against No. 21 ranked Southwestern on Thursday.
Arkansas Monticello currently has two scorers averaging double digit points, senior guard, Berniezha Tidwell at 17.1 points per game, along with Mackenzie Tillman at 10.3 points per game. Tidwell also leads the team in rebounds at 6.3 a game, followed by Mekaylan Hicks at 5.9.
This will be the 11th meeting in school history with the Lady Rangers leading the series 6-4 after splitting 1-1 last season. NWOSU will look to make it two in a row versus UAM after winning the second meeting on the road 53-42
