The Lady Rangers are set to open conference play on Saturday

ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers are set to open conference play Saturday at 2 pm against the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University. 
 
The Lady Rangers go into the matchup 2-0 on the season after defeating Oklahoma Panhandle State University (70-60) and Tabor College (57-54).
 
After two games, the-Red-and-Black are led by Mya Johnson and Scout Frame
 
Johnson, the redshirt junior from St. Louis, is averaging a double-double with 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. She's racked up 21 rebounds, seven being offensive, and has put in 19-of-24 from the field… Good enough for a .792 FG%. 
 
Frame, the Kinsley, Kan. native, is averaging 14 points and three rebounds. The senior is playing 31 minutes a game while shooting 12-of-20 from the field. She's snatched three steals and 28 points after two opponents. 
 
The Lady Rangers are coached by Tasha Diesselhorst, who is in her fifth season as the Head Women's Basketball Coach. 
 
"We are excited to start conference play in Percefull and are looking forward to the opportunity to compete against a good OBU team." Diesselhorst says.

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST:
 
The Bison are projected fifth in the Western Division after finishing last season 1-21 in GAC play and 5-23 overall. 
 
Oklahoma Baptist is led by Bo Overton, who was named the Head Women's Basketball Coach in March of 2020. 
 
OBU opened their season on Jan. 7 against Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The Bison fell behind SOSU after shooting 19-of-51 from the field and 4-of-18 from three-point range. They lost the season opener 56-61.
 
Leading scorers for the Bison include Charissa Price and Jaylin Stapleton. 
 
Price is averaging 11 points a game and three rebounds. She finished with three steals and is shooting .429% from the field. 
 
Stapleton is also averaging 11 points, but she is shooting 5-of-5 right now with eight rebounds after one game.

The Lady Rangers trail the all-time series against Oklahoma Baptist 35-20 and 11-13 playing in Alva. Northwestern has won the last three contests against the Bison, with the largest margin of victory being 75-59 on Jan. 18, 2020— the last time OBU stepped inside of Percefull Fieldhouse.
