ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Cheerleading has made changes to the format for becoming a member of the team. After using tryouts the team is changingt the format to open gyms on the following dates.
Open Gym Schedule:
Friday, January 6th 6-8 PM (Small Gym)
Sunday, January 29th 3-5 PM (Percefull Fieldhouse)
Friday, February 10th 6-8 PM (Percefull Fieldhouse)
Friday February 24th 6-8 PM (Small Gym)
Sunday March 26th 3-5 PM (Percefull Fieldhouse)
"We have made some exciting changes to how we are building our Ranger Cheerleading Team! We are now making offers at our open gyms, instead of having tryouts. Once we have a full roster all remaining open gyms will be canceled" stated head coach Jolie Swell.
After you've received an offer, you will be required to submit your most current high school/college transcript. You will have two weeks to notify us of your decision to accept or decline our offer. If that time period expires before you have made your decision, you may attend additional open gyms to earn another offer. This would reset that two week period, but we reserve the right to not make an offer at that time.
We will no longer have tryouts. In place of tryouts, we will have a signing day to celebrate all who have accepted our offer. We had our first signing day of Ranger Cheerleading history this season. We have been making efforts to close the gap between cheer and other sports, and this is all a part of that attempt.
